What matters when choosing
Whether you need to deflect inbound calls or run outbound campaigns at scale, we match you with the right platform — not just the most expensive one.
Datasheet speeds are measured with features off — check real throughput with IPS and TLS inspection enabled, or you'll be throttled.
Match the Next Generation Firewall tier to your risk — core NGFW for basic app and user control, or the full threat-prevention suite for higher-risk environments.
Most traffic is encrypted, so inspection matters — but it's demanding to run. Check performance and the practicalities of decryption.
The appliance is only part of it — threat subscriptions, support and renewals add up. Compare multi-year TCO, not just the sticker price
What we compare
The whole NGFW capability stack, in one place

Compare the features that separate a Next Generation Firewall from a legacy firewall — so you can match the capability class to your risk.
Identify and control traffic by the actual application — not just the port — so you can allow, block or limit apps regardless of how they try to hide.
Core
Get matched →Write policy by user and group, not just IP — tying firewall rules to your directory so access follows people, not addresses.
Core
Get matched →Detect and block known exploits and attacks inline as traffic passes through — turning the firewall into an active threat barrier.
Threat tier
Get matched →Decrypt and inspect encrypted traffic — where most threats now hide — then re-encrypt, so protection isn't blind to HTTPS.
Threat tier
Get matched →Anti-malware, threat intelligence and cloud sandboxing detonate unknown files — catching zero-day threats a basic firewall would pass straight through.
Enterprise tier
Get matched →Get Next Generation Firewall Services covering central policy management, logging and reporting — or have an Indian provider deploy, tune and run your NGFW estate for you.
Managed / add-on
Get matched →Try it — no sign-up needed

Illustrative per-appliance pricing. Standard covers core NGFW; enterprise adds full threat prevention — actual cost varies by throughput and subscriptions.
Why use us
With Next Generation Firewall Solutions, the trap is buying more capability than you need — or turning on inspection that cripples throughput. Here's how our platform helps you size and class it right, at no cost to you.
Our service is free to you. We're paid by partners only when a deal completes, so our advice stays honest and vendor-neutral.
Compare options from more than one Next Generation Firewall Provider, including Fortinet, Palo Alto, Sophos and Check Point, plus Indian delivery, in one place instead of chasing each reseller.
We help you decide whether you need core NGFW or the full threat-prevention tier — a big cost and performance difference.
Threat inspection and TLS decryption slash rated speeds — we help you size for throughput with inspection on, not the glossy number.
Standalone appliance, cloud firewall or a step towards SASE — we make sure your NGFW choice fits where you're heading.
We stay with you from enquiry through rollout and tuning — and your details are never sold, shared only with vendors you approve.
Why this matters
Legacy firewalls make decisions on ports and IP addresses — but modern apps and malware ride over the same few ports (mostly 443) and hide inside encryption. That leaves an old firewall waving traffic through with no idea what it really is. A next-generation firewall identifies the actual application and user, looks inside encrypted traffic, and blocks intrusions and malware inline. The catch: turning all that on can slash throughput, and buying a bigger tier than you need wastes budget. So the real skill is matching the capability class to your risk and sizing for throughput with inspection enabled. We vet vendors on real-world performance, feature depth and total cost before any are listed.
Built to protect the buyer, not the vendor
Every category is its own home not a link buried three menus deep.
We never share your details with vendors until you explicitly approve it. No cold calls from sellers you didn't choose.
Every Next Generation Firewall Provider is assessed for feature depth, real throughput with inspection on, TLS performance, support and total cost before listing.
Our service is free to buyers from first comparison to live firewall. We're paid by vendors only when a deal completes — no hidden advice fees.
Four ways we help
Compare NGFW Solutions
Compare trusted Next-Generation Firewall providers and find the right solution to control applications, inspect encrypted traffic and stop threats before they reach your network.
Common Questions
A traditional firewall filters traffic by port, protocol, and IP address. A Next Generation Firewall adds deeper intelligence: it identifies the actual application in use (App-ID), ties policy to users and groups rather than just IPs, inspects the content of traffic including encrypted TLS, and includes inline intrusion prevention and threat blocking. In short, an NGFW understands who is doing what with which application — and can stop threats hidden inside otherwise-allowed traffic.
It's mostly about how much threat prevention you switch on. Standard Next Generation Firewall Solutions provide the core capabilities: application and user control, basic intrusion prevention and good visibility. The enterprise or threat-prevention tier adds full IPS, TLS/SSL inspection at scale, advanced malware protection, cloud sandboxing and richer threat intelligence — at higher cost and with heavier performance demands. Higher-risk or regulated environments usually need the enterprise tier; smaller or lower-risk sites often don't. We help you match the class to your actual risk.
Often not as a separate box — intrusion prevention is built into modern NGFWs, so for many organisations the NGFW's IPS is enough. But some run dedicated IDS/IPS for deeper detection, specific network segments or defence-in-depth, especially in high-security environments. It depends on your risk and architecture. We have a dedicated intrusion detection and prevention comparison if you want to weigh a standalone approach alongside your NGFW.
An NGFW can be a hardware appliance in your site or data centre, or delivered from the cloud as firewall-as-a-service. SASE takes cloud-delivered firewalling further, converging it with secure web gateway, ZTNA and SD-WAN into one platform for a distributed, cloud-first estate. If you mainly protect physical sites and data centres, an NGFW appliance fits; if you're securing a cloud-first, hybrid workforce, cloud firewall or SASE may suit better. Our Firewalls and SASE comparisons cover those routes.
A well-configured NGFW supports CERT-In expectations on network defence and logging, and helps protect personal data in line with the DPDP Act and RBI guidance for regulated entities — with on-prem appliances keeping inspection and logs local for residency. Pricing is usually a per-appliance hardware cost plus annual threat-prevention and support subscriptions, so multi-year total cost matters more than the upfront figure. Figures here are illustrative, and this is general guidance, not legal advice — confirm current requirements with the vendor and your advisors.
